Gainesville, GA – Today, Gainesville Mayor Sam Couvillon announced his candidacy for the United States House of Representatives in Georgia’s 9th Congressional District. Sam Couvillon is a conservative small business owner running to take on Washington D.C. and deliver real results for the people of Northeast Georgia.

“The hardworking men and women of GA-09 deserve a proven conservative voice in Congress who will deliver results,” said Sam Couvillon. “While most politicians are more concerned with making a point than getting things done, I’ll be ready on Day 1 to support President Trump’s agenda, secure our southern border, tackle inflation and the rising cost of living, and stand with our farmers and small businesses.”

As mayor of Gainesville, Sam saw firsthand how the Biden Administration drove inflation to historic highs and pushed disastrous policies that drained family bank accounts, undermined American strength at home and abroad, and made our streets less safe. That’s why as mayor Sam worked hard to bring thousands of jobs and millions in investment to Gainesville and the surrounding communities, increase funding for our men and women in law enforcement and first responders, keep taxes low, and ensure our classrooms were places for learning - not partisan politics. 

Under his leadership, the city of Gainesville was also named the best performing small city in the nation – a testament to his tireless work to deliver meaningful solutions for the people who elected him. 

In Congress, Sam won’t bow down to the talking heads, lobbyists, or special interests. Instead, he will stand shoulder to shoulder with President Trump to make the federal government smaller and more efficient, create more good-paying jobs, keep American families safe, and protect the values of the men and women of Georgia’s 9th Congressional District.
